When it comes to love relationships, which works better?

Couples consisting of two people that are very much alike and equal or two people that are close to complete opposites (which leads to them completing each other) ?When it comes to love relationships, which works better?
I know people have the impression that opposites complete each other, but research on long term marital success shows that people who are more alike are more compatible (and stay together).

No one completes the other.. that's just fantasy talk. I would assume that couples that are very much alike work better,because I've had both experiences. You like the same things, you have similar interests, you have lots to talk about. Being opposites is difficult, you dont' get each other, you argue more and you fight over what to watch on the television. Either way, love relationships are tough, it's best to find someone that you can be best friends with and go from there. If you think about who are you most likely to be best friends with? Someone with similar interests, someone that gets you.
They say opposites attract, but at some point, you have to have some things in common. I think an equal balance of the two make the best relationship. Two people who are willing to compromise and give and take a little.
Too people who are more opposite than not. If you have too much in common, you'd both get bored really quickly. If you like different things, there's room for each of you explore new things, and keep things interesting.
I live by the saying that opposites attract but don't make for a lasting relationship. I lived with a complete opposite for 20 yrs and i was miserable.
It mostly takes having things in common for a relationship to work out in the long run.Sex alone will not keep two people together.It takes some common ground on shared interests(some) and mutual goals.
As long as the two are happy together opposites teach each other and people alike like the same things and people.
I'd rather have somebody that's the complete opposite....that way it keeps the boredom at bay.
