Do long distnace relationships work?

My boyfriend lives in Florida and i live in Illinois. Hes coming out to see me in a month but sometimes things seem like their going downhill. Has anyone out there had a long distance relationship that worked?Do long distnace relationships work?
Yes they do. I met my boyfriend back in 9-20-08 and as of today 5-13-09 were still together and now were living together. :D





he lived in Mississippi, but hes from Florida but stationed in MS cause military





I lived in indiana now with him.





and we both to have this relationship go as far *** it can.

No but i know of 2 ppl corresponding,neither of them seem in a hurry to meet but i'd bet my house they do.Whether or not can work,depends on the parties involved


Most r/ships(not involving distance) rarely stay in sync 100% of the time,so a long distance r/ship may need more attention..Only the strong survive.

I MARRIED A GIRL FROM CHINA, BEST THING I EVERRRRRR DID, I AM 51, TRAVELED TWICE TO CHINA FOR A MONTH EACH TIME, CHATTED DAILY FOR ABOUT 11/2 DAILY ON INSTANT YAHOO/IM, BOTH HAD CAMS AND I USED SKYPE CAM TO CALL HER OFTEN FOR 2 PENNYS PER MINUTE.IT REALLY DEPENDS ON YOU BOTH AND IT CAN WORK W/ PATIENCE, LOVE, TIME, %26amp; HONESTY
In a LDR for three years and it worked out fine. Either I went to go visit him every so often or he came to visit me. If we couldn't afford to go see one another...we'd just use the webcams. LDR's are difficult but not impossible if you both have the same goal in mind. You just have to be open minded and willing to work through those trying times. Dwell on the good times you all share while you are together instead of the miles between you two. It's not permanent so at some point you'll be together and it'll make everything worth it!

I live in ohio and i met a guy in Florida but we are friends but i would never take it farther than that because it will not work. Its hard not seeing someone for a long period of time and you don't know what your other is doing down there there has to be a lot of trust and commitment for it to work out
They can certainly work out. But there is a lot of effort for both of you to make it work. It also depends on how strong your relationship was before the move.





One of the keys to make it work is to establish good routines where you contact each other, and make sure that it doesn't become something that either of you starts to dread. Make sure that you talk a lot about the future and how you will make this work out eventually.

yesss. they most defaintley do work. IF you trust eachother, and are completey honest with one another and if you communicate alot! im in one right now, and it doesnt even seem ';:long distance'; , its working out :) if you love eachother, it works.

From what I know and have dealt with, no.


It depends on your maturity level and your patience to handle difficult circumstances and outcomes.


Eventually though you will have to be in the same vicinity before it's all over with.
Sorry but whatever people say they generally never work.


In movies they do thats because movies are fake. Close relationships work because you can see each other more and it doesnt seem like a big thing when meeting.
