Do relationships really make you fat?

Every relationship I've been in, I tend to put on weight and then lose it when I leave them. Has anyone noticed this in their own lives?Do relationships really make you fat?
There are often a lot of ';eating activities'; in relationships. Going out to dinner is a fun date. Going to the movies and eating popcorn. Going out for drinks. All these fun calories add up, leading to gaining weight. Plus, you might not exercise as much because you want to spend time with your significant other.

Then you break up. You might be a little depressed or upset, and not feel like eating. You want to look your best to meet someone new, so you start working out more, and eating better. And you lose weight.

Then you meet someone else and the cycle starts again! Until you meet the perfect someone, gain a few pounds, then get engaged. Now you diet so you can look great in your wedding pictures. After the wedding you get content and fat again! :-)Do relationships really make you fat?
I've heard this before. I think that once you get into a relationship you get comfortable within it. Meaning, you already got the man, why keep going to the gym. Plus, you go out together, mostly eating. In my opinion is to get someone who enjoys an active life then, it shouldn't be a problem.
they could. your boyfriend could make you so miserabel or depressed. When you get miserable or depress you could be a person that has a habbit of eat ing when that happens. when some people get depressed they smoke alot of ciggarets. or eat. or kill themselves. so it depends on the person and how they handel it.
relationships do not make you fat. if you are in a bad relaitonship you might be depressed and start eating a lot of food. if you are in a good relationship then you don't have to worry about that problem.
Relationships can be a factor in your behavior and how you relate to the rest of the world. If you are stressed over a relationship and one of the ways you deal with stress is to eat a lot then indirectly it can make you fat. However if you are in a relationship that motivates you have a more healthy lifestyle, then it can do the very opposite.

It depends on the state of your relationship. In most cases, stress may cause you to turn to food. I know personally that I always crave chocolate and ice cream when I'm depressed or stressed. But wanting a little treat to calm yourself down can be controlled. It only becomes and issue when you cannot control your intake or you don't realize that you're gaining. Your loss of weight when you're single could be a result of you being happier alone. Or it could be that all your partners have been great chefs and have been spoiling you with cuisines that you don't make for yourself. But more that likely that's not the case... we all know men can't cook. :-)
