What is the relationships between Mendel's Law of Segretation and the movement of chromosomes in meiosis?

I don't fully understand it so it would be great if someone could explain it.. Thank youWhat is the relationships between Mendel's Law of Segretation and the movement of chromosomes in meiosis?
If all ch's went to the next generation unchanged, not much variation would occure. The ';crossing over'; is the important factor where all the ch's passed on by one parent are not all the same.

With pairs of ch's each ch has different genes. They are not exact copies of each other. Crossing over increases the diversity.

Hope you follow.
